This study was the second one conducted at the National Gallery of Art. The curiosity for this study was to work the acrylics further and obtain a heavy body brush stroke similar to the one Cezanne used. The acrylic mixture utilized the traditional heavy gloss gel, the new open acrylic gloss gel, and both gloss and satin glazing compounds extensively. The vast shrinkage from the gels when they finally dried was not what was expected. What did arise in this work was the power of titanium white in creating a textured finish.
