This painting is an interpretation of the original oil on canvas painted by Rembrandt Workshop (possibly Carel Fabritius) that is on display at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC.
The curiosity for this study was to bring a 17th century Dutch painting into a 19th century Dutch painting by introducing ideas from French artists.
