The curiosity for this study was the wind, after my initial exposure to it up close in Woman with a Parasol – Madame Monet and Her Son. A flow improver was used to thin out the mixture and emulate a water color style. This approach proved valuable in developing a shading similar to the charcoal shading used in The Trip. The flow improver, while providing a similar functionality to the glazing liquids, resulted in a good deal of runoff if the mixture is too lean.

The approach again was to try to stay close to the original, while increasing the effect of the wind, which can be seen in the background.
